Meeting you is one of our favorite things to do. So, it was truly a delight – mixed with a good kind of nervousness – when #BLPTeam flew to Surabaya for the grand opening of Beauty Space BLP Surabaya. Months of preparation are about to come to fruition, and we were there to witness it. It was, and still feels like, such a huge milestone for us, as Beauty Space BLP Surabaya is the biggest space we have to date.
On November 23, we opened our doors to our closest #BLPGirls in Surabaya. They were invited to explore our beach house-themed store, be among the firsts to try out the complete range of BLP products in Surabaya and take photos around the space. We could not be more thankful for the endless positive vibes throughout this first leg of the opening weekend.
For the next two days, all #BLPGirls were welcomed to visit, shop and take as many photos in Beauty Space BLP Surabaya.
We have also prepared a series of special promotions, including up to 60% discount, free product and many many gifts on November 24 and 25. Your overwhelmingly warm responses left us speechless. Some of the BLP Girls have even arrived at Tunjungan Plaza 6 before the mall was opened.
It must have been the busiest weekend BLP Team and BLP Beauty Crew have experienced so far. The queues were endless, but all of you were extremely patient and excited to celebrate the opening with us. So, we got you some sweet treats from @Delichoux to make the waiting more bearable.
Later in the day, our founder Lizzie Parra shared her tips and tricks on how to best use BLP products to bring out your unique features in a makeup demo. Hopefully some of you got this valuable makeup lessons and tried them yourself!
All in all, nothing is more rewarding than to see our products tried, applied and brought home by you, #BLPGirls! We cannot wait to see you more often in 2019!
Since opening the first Beauty Space BLP in Lotte Shopping Avenue Jakarta, we have been receiving requests from you, #BLPGirls, to come to other cities. And yes, we hear you! After Paskal 23 Bandung, now is the chance for us to meet BLP Girls in Surabaya.
Occupying a space sized 44 m2 on the second floor of Tunjungan Plaza 6 Surabaya, this new space is the biggest Beauty Space BLP to date. This significant milestone is all thanks to you, for continuously supporting us from day one.
The design of this Beauty Space BLP Surabaya starts from the idea of BLP Beauty in Paradise, surrounded by lush greeneries, calming beach and plenty of sunlight. Therefore, we built a beach house-inspired space where you can feel right at home.
Elements of stones, washed wood and rattan alongside fresh greeneries are designed to emulate the feel of perennial holiday. Every detail matters for us, down to which quote we put inside the store and the selection of campaign photos and accessories on display.
Here is where you can be the best version of yourself – happy, confident, comfortable in your own skin. Our Beauty Crews, dressed in beige dress designed specially for BLP Beauty by Bebajuan, are ready to help you find the best shades and advise on the best ways to apply the complete range of BLP Beauty products. From the collection of #OnTheLips and #InYourEyes, to the latest collection of Face Powder and Face Glow in #FaceIt, feel free to explore, swatch and try them all!
Make sure you pay a visit to our store for exclusive promotion and new product launch. Share your experience with us using #BLPGoesToSurabaya and #BeautySpaceBLP, because we’d love to hear what you think!
At BLP Beauty we believe that everyone has their own glow. Sometimes it is hidden inside, sometimes it is out there spreading positivity around. #FaceGlowBLP is made to bring these glows inside out.
Created in three shades of Sunset & Sunrise, Dawn & Dusk, and Midday & Midnight, Face Glow BLP suits every personality, every skin tone, every face shape easily. It is formulated in buildable pigments so you can control the intensity as you apply the blush and highlighter on.
After months of research and development, Face Glow BLP finally came to fruition. We went all the way to Bali to capture the blush and highlighter under the glorious sun of paradise. Bali could not be more fitting as the backdrop of Face Glow BLP shoot. Sunset and Sunrise looks especially complementing on different skin tones under the sun. Dawn and Dusk is sweeter, making the cheeks naturally blushing, while Midday and Midnight is just so pigmented you only need one or two swipes for everyday wear.
And it is equally exciting to share this new addition of #FaceIt with our closest #BLPGirls. Taking place in Mr. Sunday, the exclusive launch was opened by our one and only Lizzie Parra to introduce the complete range of Face Glow BLP. A makeup demo was set to show how it is best applied, while the #BLPGirls of the day can experiment using the shades on their own skin.
The three shades of Face Glow BLP came in a pouch that can be decorated in the crafting class led by Kitty Manu. #BLPGirls can customize their rattan pouch and bring home Face Glow BLP in it. They can also take photos of the tropical-inspired decoration beautifully created by Fete (@fete.id).
All of the hard work is worth it upon seeing #BLPGirls glowing and blushing with #FaceGlowBLP that day. We cannot wait to see these three shades on you, too!
Let’s take a trip to our version of Paradise, where the sun shines brightly and the sand is as soft as you have imagined it to be.
This trip is made for best friends – yes, that’s us and you, #BLPGirls! – to spend time together and enjoy the moment.
We are inspired by your uniqueness and fullness of life, which has become our motivation through all the hardships and the achievements we had so far. It is just like our journey to the villa we stayed in – it was not exactly easy, but everything was worth it the moment we stepped in the light-filled, dreamy space.
To the paradise we brought the complete range of BLP Beauty products to play around with. Our range of makeup is meant to highlight your unique features and amplify your confidence, as we swear by natural look.
How to create it: Glide the easiest thing ever, #EyeshadowPenBLP, across the lids and complete the eye look with #BrowDefinerBLP, #MatteLinerBLP and #LashesBLP. Add thin layer of #LipCoatBLP or #LipStainBLP on the lips.
Meanwhile, for the complexion we have already got #FacePowderBLP for flawless-looking skin, with #FaceGlowBLP to give you healthy blushing cheeks. So there you have it, the look of BLP Beauty in Paradise.
Surrounded by the beauty in paradise, we were elated to celebrate the journey so far. BLP Beauty is here because of you, and nothing can take that away from us. This paradise is a safe haven, where women can encourage other women, where creativity and personality are celebrated.
On a bright sunny day, we met Aras Ratri Kara – or @arasuuu as her Instagram handle says. She is full of energy, beaming with positivity and nothing short of uniqueness. Having a role in creative division, nurturing two brands under her wing and being a mother, to boot, Aras does not seem to falter at the face of them all. With BLP she shared more on how she balances her time and what makes her confident.
What keeps you busy these days?
Making ARK new collaboration collection with Henrixa that will be launched at the end of this month, while working and being a mom.
When and how did you fall in love with design and art in the first place?
I love art since elementary school. I remember my father always framed my best drawings and put them on the wall. As I grew up I love to draw even more. When I studied abroad in Tokyo, Japan, I spent a lot of weekends visiting art museums. I got inspired and motivated by seeing exhibition of many artists from all around the world.
Does being a mom stop you from who you want to be? How do you balance your time for family vs for work?
Of course not. Currently I am working in a Japanese company with flexible working hours, so I will spend a lot of time with Yuri (my 1-year-old daughter) when I can work from home. We also have family day out at least once a week. During my free time – usually after work is done and Yuri is asleep – I start to work on ARK project. Creating stuff is my hobby. I don't count it as work because I really enjoy it!
Which makeup items do you wear daily?
I'm a simple woman. Lipstick and eye shadow are good for me!
What makes you confident, and how do you practice #BeAdored?
Being myself! Eventhough sometimes I feel like an alien between humans, being unique me makes me confident.
Sharing is indeed caring. Here at BLP Beauty, we swear by this act of caring so this year we started another way of sharing with you, #BLPGirls. Let us excitedly introduce #BLPBeauty Class – an opportunity to learn, explore and experiment with BLP products while getting firsthand knowledge from the experts in the industry.
It is only fitting to have our founder Lizzie Parra as the mentor in this first occasion. She picked the theme “glass skin” look to share with #BLPGirls. In several easy steps, involving both BLP and a handful of quality products from other local beauty brands, a glowing look can be achieved!
For those missing the class, fret not. Here are the key steps in creating “glass skin”:
1. Clean your face thoroughly. Yes, even when you have no makeup on, dirt from the air can be stuck in your pores. Use Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micellar Water on For Skin’s Sake Premium Round Cotton Pads to make sure your face is clean and ready for makeup.
2. Mix foundation to suit your skin tone. Oftentimes it is best to add a bit of light foundation even when your skin tends to be on the medium/dark side to avoid patchiness. Rosé All Day The Realest Lightweight Foundation is our go-to complexion product. Apply it using Rosé All Day The Little Bean sprayed with Studio Tropik’s Flawless Priming Water.
3. Then, it is time for the eyes! Use Eyeshadow Pen BLP that is creamy and blendable to create any look you wish. Add a standout flick using Matte Liner BLP and finalize the look with Lashes BLP.
4. No makeup is complete without well-defined brows. Use Brow Definer in either Brown or Dark Brown, before filling the brows in with Brow Powder.
5. For cheeks and lips, you can always trust Lip Coat BLP. The pigmented color can effortlessly create contour (give Maple Waffle or Ginger Bread a try), as well as adding blush to the cheeks (Peach Soda or Lavender Cream is your partner in this area). Mix those shades for your lips, or just opt for either one.
6. Finally, we brought out the highlighter to achieve illuminating effects on the cheeks. What products we use for this, you may wonder. Find out the answer by the end of November!
The #BLPGirls were also treated to a goodie bag filled with BLP shopping voucher worth IDR 500,000, Studio Tropik Flawless Priming Water, Rosé All Day The Realest Lightweight Foundation and their new Little Bean Sponge, Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micellar Water and For Skin’s Sake Premium Round Cotton Pads.
The class was closed with announcement for Best Makeup that went to Paratisa Kharismadita, while Stefany Yvonne was our top spender of the day. Both of them brought home Dandelion voucher and more treats from BLP Beauty.
We’d like to thank our partners for making this class happen and for your enthusiasm. Keep your eyes peeled on our social media platforms for future announcement of the next #BLPBeauty Class!
It feels just like yesterday we opened the first Beauty Space BLP in Lotte Shopping Avenue, Jakarta. Then, another exciting opportunity has arrived in another city. After a lot of requests from you, we are delighted to announce that now we can meet #BLPGirls in Bandung everyday! Yes, Beauty Space BLP has officially opened in Bonheur, Paskal 23 Bandung from August 3 until this October.
Still exuding warm, comfortable and welcoming ambience, Beauty Space BLP Bandung offers a different concept than the one in Jakarta. If previously we adopted the idea of a living room, in Bandung we transformed the space into our own version of a powder room.
Thus, you will be able to find a lot of mirrors, with ample space to try all range of BLP products. Think of it as a space where you can freshen up yourself before heading out!
On the day of the launch, we were keen to meet the faces of #BLPGirls in Bandung. It was truly a weekend to remember, as we got overwhelmingly positive responses from everyone who came. Plus, we have also prepared free gifts for the shoppers throughout the weekend.
Yay! Our very own Lizzie Parra was also there to meet and greet with all of you, in a special talk show organized by Bonheur.
Another heartwarming agenda was tea time with #BLPGirls on Sunday. Five #BLPGirls – @meeniq, @terecha, @ruthagnel, @saranuralisya and @rahmadhitamaulida – got to meet Lizzie Parra and Christa with the rest of #BLPTeam in Bandung. We could chat, exchange stories and dreams, being closer with one of our biggest support systems: YOU!
We feel utterly grateful to be able to come to Bandung. Now, which city you’d like to find us in? More surprises are coming this year!
Cia Wardhana is the kind of girls you would want to hang out with, crack one or two jokes with and travel with. Her bubbly personality instantly uplifted our mood when we had her for a shoot. Her endless energy made us equally energetic. Starting a career as radio announcer, Cia is well on her way to roam the world and share her experiences through her blog and TV shows.
What keeps you busy these days?
I am a radio announcer and TV host. At the same time, I frequently travel for my blog and TV shows, while doing occasional off-air hosting. Hopefully I can also publish my book on traveling soon!
How did you start your career in radio and TV?
When I was still in high school in Bandung, I listened to the radio and heard my senior hosting a show. I requested a song, and instead she asked me whether I was interested in becoming an announcer. Of course I said yes! The training was not easy, but here I am.
(Prior to being a TV host), I have already occasionally travelled. Thanks to my background in radio, a producer offered me to host a traveling show. Yes, I am lucky! I did not have to go through casting process to start this new path on TV.
Where are the most exciting destinations you’ve ever been to?
In Indonesia, Tangkahan in North Sumatra is one of my favorites. It is located just outside Medan. Visitors can play with the elephants there!
Outside Indonesia, I am thankful to finally go to Iceland. It has been one of my childhood dreams to go to Iceland, and I made it happen! I cannot wait to go back there.
What are your beauty must-haves while traveling?
Sunscreen, to tackle the heat! I also like wearing eyeliner to make me look good in photos.
How do you #BeAdored?
The key is to be happy. If you do what you love – because not everyone can do what they are passionate about – and be happy, you will be able to adore yourself.
What Cia Wardhana wears:
#OnTheLips: Lip Coat in Butter Fudge, Red Velvet and Bloody Mary
#FaceIt: Face Powder in Medium Beige
#InYourEyes: Eyeshadow Pen in Harvest Gold and Crème Gold
You probably recognize Nadin Amizah from her muted, moody Instagram feed with username “cake caine.” You could also have heard her feel-good song with Dipha Barus titled “All Good” playing in the radio. Before all that, the rising star has a long story of finding her own way and building confidence. To #BLPTeam she shares her humble beginning, inspiration in music and how she sees her future in art.
What keeps you busy these days?
I am currently waiting for college to begin! In the mean time, I am having some singing gigs.
What do you want to study?
Performing arts or English literature. I have a huge interest in both fields and want to apply my skills in a different way than I do now.
How did you start singing?
I took singing lessons when I was in elementary school, but it lasted only for few months. And then, there was Instagram. I uploaded some singing videos there, without showing my face. I was not confident! I would sit down and face the wall, or just show my back, or the sky – anything but my face!
However, slowly I found my confidence. Dipha Barus discovered my talent and asked me to sing in his track. He contacted me way before “No One Can Stop Us” so I didn’t really know who he is. I took the risk, and the result was beyond my expectation. It has never crossed my mind that I can listen to my song in the radio and make a living as a singer.
Who inspires you in music?
Unlike my project with Dipha Barus, I am actually more into folk music. Justin Vernon, Damien Rice and Lianne La Havas – who is more of an alternative musician – are my inspirations.
What does music mean for you and your future?
In French, there is a saying that translates to “reason to be.” Music is exactly my reason to be, because I am attached to music. Beyond that, I also cannot live without art. My dream is to be an artist in any form. Even when I can no longer be in the spotlight, I want to find ways to practice art such as becoming a director.
Speaking of art, you also express yourself through words. What inspires you? My mom has a background in literature. She is very articulate when talking to me, even when she is upset! Her love for language is planted into me. I like reading small phrases, and since I always have “full feelings”, I need to express them in either songs or words.
How do you usually do your makeup?
Mostly I use foundation to cover some acne scars. I have just gone through teenage phase! If I go to an event, I usually have full, but still lightweight, coverage on. For shows, I apply more cake-y foundation. On daily basis I always wear lipstick, blush on and mascara. I also like to create ombré lips, using BLP Beauty’s Butter Fudge, Burnt Cinnamon and Red Velvet.
What are three things you cannot live without?
Art, music, my mom.
What is your take on #BeAdored?
#BeAdored is a journey for me, because I am still learning how to do “self love.” I was not confident at all, yet recently I have improved. There are certainly some things that we have to let go, like accepting the fact that our features are different. Beauty is not only about sharp nose or white skin, every one is beautiful in their own way.
Outspoken, warm and confident – these impressions stuck with us upon the first minutes of meeting Sivia Azizah, and those qualities have not changed since. The multitalented #BLPGirl has her start in music when she was still young, and as she is getting more mature, her interests expand exponentially, to acting, hosting, radio DJ-ing and fashion. With #BLPTeam she shared about how she becomes who she is today and her love for bold lipsticks.
What keeps you busy these days?
I am now a radio DJ at Mustang while preparing my new single after going solo, hopefully it will be released this year!
How do you build your career in music, radio DJ and fashion?
I have actually tried a lot of jobs. Initially I started in music, by joining singing class and competition since I was a kid! After that I tried being a commercial talent, then trying my dip in TV shows. After around 5 years of acting, I went back to singing and now I got a chance to try radio DJ-ing. Working in radio definitely still is related to music.
Having studied fashion in college, I saw an opportunity in the field other than being a designer. Through reading magazines and referencing some influencers in Indonesia and beyond, I can shape my own style and character.
Who inspires you in fashion?
Social media is my source of inspiration. Right now I am inspired by a female photographer named Christina Paik, who frequently shoots street-inspired images. Since wearing hijab, I also try to find style inspirations on Instagram. An account that I currently like is called @nemahsis.
How do you usually do your makeup?
My essentials are BB cushion, blush on, powder and lipstick. I love to wear bold lipsticks (Pumpkin Sorbet, Burnt Cinnamon and Red Velvet are my favorites!) because I believe lips can make you look “put together.” With my casual and boyish style, I prefer natural look – other than the lips – as I want to be as simple, as comfortable as I can. My skin is also sensitive, so I cannot try too many different products.
What do you think about #BeAdored and what do you do to #BeAdored?
It is about respecting myself and accepting anything my own skin. Let’s be thankful for what we have, appreciate what our body has done for us. Acnes or pigmentation on the skin will eventually go away. So I try to accept them. Anything on my body is beautiful as it is!
